    Description

    We have several of these Remanufactured 1966 Pontiac 421 Engine Blocks.  Each and every unit starts out as a Used Core.  Upon purchasing a core the used items are carefully inspected to determine if they can be Restored for use.  After the Engine Blocks pass inspection they are Shake and Baked to eliminate Rust and Corrosion on the surface of the Cast Iron.  The Shake and Bake Process also "Relaxes" the cast iron and enables it to return to an "As Manufactured" state.  Over time the Cast Iron Engine Block builds up internal stress due to the heating and cooling cycles it has to experience.  In the long run this can result in the Cast Iron Cracking at Stress Points.  The "Normalizing Process" of the Shake and Bake removes such.
    Then the Engine Block Line Bore and Cylinder Bore are checked for Proper Machining and Sizing.  If there are issues with the Line Bore or Cylinder Bores they are machined to proper size.  In the case of the Cylinder Bores if there are any issues and they cannot be overbored the Cylinder Bore may require Sleaving to Restore to correct Dimensional State.  Once we have a Serviceable Cylinder Bores, we focus on the Main LIne Bore of the Main Bearing Caps.  In most cases the Bolts are replaced with ARP Main Studs or Bolts and then the Main LIne is Aline Honed to eliminate any Dimensional Problems.
    In Performance cases, like this block we remove the Failure Prone Cast Iron Caps and Install Steel Billet Main Caps. Once the Main Line and Cylinder Bores are returned to Serviceable State  we chase the threads in the Bare Block to eliminate any thread damage, grime or grit.  Now we can apply a couple of coats of High Temp Engine Paint if desired.  This will protect the Block from Rust  If the Customer prefers we can tap the front two oil galleys for Screw In Plugs, install all screw in plugs and Bronze Freeze Plugs.  Then the Block can be considered ready to assemble.
    These are Rare and Hard to Find.  What you see is what you get.  If you prefer Freeze Plug and Pipe Plug Install you will need to discuss such with us.  There will be an additional Labor and Part fee for such.  Each and every Pontiac 421 has a core value.  If you have a core Pontiac Four Bolt Main 421 then we will have to receive it in good condition to determine core value.  If it passes inspection, the price listed will be the price paid.  If it is damaged and requires additional repair or machining, there will be additional core fees.  This Pontiac 421 can be purchased outright with out a core.  You will just have to pay the core fee.  Others require a core.  We will load these up for damage fee shipping.  All the items you may need for assembly can be included.  There will be additional fees for each and every part and service.  If you have questions please contact us.
